About
In an era defined by rapid industrialization and technological advancement, the need for sustainable practices has become more pressing than ever. Sustainability is not just a buzzword; it's a commitment to ensuring that our actions today do not compromise the well-being of future generations. The United Nations has recognized the urgency of this matter through the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a set of 17 interconnected objectives addressing global challenges. The Sustainability Cell aspires to create a community of environmentally conscious and socially responsible individuals who actively contribute to these SDGs and a sustainable and equitable future.
The sustainability cell actively engages in projects that address local socio-economic issues and promote inclusivity within the community. The cell has conducted various impactful donation drives like the Book Donation Drive, which promotes literacy while reducing waste, and the Clothes Donation Drive, an initiative fostering inclusivity by providing gently used clothing to those in need. The cell has also conducted creative awareness activities such as the Sustainable Photo Booth at Symaroh, featuring eco-friendly props, and the Sustainable Products Stall at Symahotsav, showcasing environmentally conscious products and encouraging responsible consumption, the cell actively promotes environmental stewardship. Events like Symystic, a blend of games and challenges centred around sustainability themes, reflect the cell’s innovative approach to engaging students and fostering eco-consciousness within the campus community.
