Alumni Cell, SCMS NOIDA has started the Symbiosis Alumni Talk Series, where we invite our beloved alumni of Symbiosis International University to share their insights, experiences and expertise with our current students.
It is an exclusive opportunity for our students to learn from our distinguished alumni, gain valuable industry insights, and network with professionals in their respective fields. During each session, the alumnus shares their personal and professional journeys, provide guidance on career paths and opportunities, and offer practical tips and strategies for success.
The series features alumni from a variety of industries and all walks of life. We believe that hearing from our alumni can inspire and empower our students to achieve their full potential and make a positive impact in their careers and communities.
The first session of this talk series got conducted on March 14, 2023, in collaboration with the Corporate Affairs Cell and QIC, on the topic "Corporate Readiness 2.0". Speaker for the session was Ms. Stuti Pandey, an SCMS NOIDA graduate of batch 2016-19 and currently a Growth Manager at Zomato. The session started with Alumni Cell Student Head welcoming Ms Pandey where she was presented with a sapling and a token of appreciation. Thereafter, the students were given a brief introduction about the alumni speaker and the topics she was going to discuss. Next, Ms Pandey was called on the dais to share her views and take forward the session.
During the session, Ms Pandey shared her own experiences and provided practical tips on how to prepare for a successful career in the corporate world. She discussed the importance of developing essential skills such as communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving, as well as the need to build a strong network of contacts and mentors. She also emphasised on the importance of being proactive in one's career development, highlighting the need to take on challenging projects, seek out new opportunities, and continually learn and develop new skills. In this line, she also emphasized on the benefits of joining any Start-up as it will give a chance to brainstorm on new ideas. She suggested students to work on social cause which is close to their heart and get associated with relevant NGOs as well. She also shared tips on how students can build their resume and talked about importance of various points that can be mentioned on it. Ms Pandey spoke about how students can benefit by mentioning the extracurricular activities they have worked on as well.
The Q&A session was undoubtedly the highlight of the event, as it provided an opportunity for students to engage with a successful alumna and gain clarity on various topics. Ms Pandey's responses were insightful and helpful, and she showed a genuine interest in the students' questions. Her willingness to share her experiences and provide advice was highly appreciated by the attendees. The students were eager to listen to her views and opinions, and many of them took notes throughout the session.
The event ended with a Thank-You note delivered by the student member of Corporate Affairs Cell. The insights and advice provided by the alumni speaker were invaluable, and the event served as a reminder of the importance of learning from those who have walked the path before us. The series is sure to become a regular fixture at the university, and students can look forward to many more such events in the future.

The Alumni Cell in association with QIC conducted yet another session of Symbiosis Alumni Talk Series on April 13th, 2023. The topic of discussion for this session was "Cracking the Corporate Code: Success Strategies for Freshers and Business Analysts at MNCs". It was a great pleasure to have Ms. Rupashi Seghal, a Senior Business Analyst at American Express and a member of Batch 2018-21, SCMS, NOIDA as the guest speaker for the event.
A warm welcome speech was delivered by one of the Alumni Cell members who introduced the distinguished guest speaker. Following that, the podium was handed over to the speaker. She started by expressing her gratitude to be able to return to the college, as well as sharing some memories with the students and her journey at SCMS NOIDA. Throughout her time at college, she held a number of leadership positions, one of which was head of the Literary Club. During her talk, she elaborated on her work and outlined her roles and responsibilities at American Express. For students preparing to enter the business world as a new college graduate, she provided some useful advice and guidance. The importance of LinkedIn profiles and being active on this platform was one of the key points that she stressed upon. Further she highlighted the relevance of Excel proficiency and the need to be knowledgeable about its many capabilities.
Ms. Sehgal continued by discussing the value of communication in all professions. She urged students to learn more about groups like Toastmasters, which aided in the improvement of her communication abilities. The event was then followed by a Q&A session. When asked about how tough it is for undergraduates to adjust to life in the corporate world, she highlighted some significant lessons from her own experience at AMEX. She stressed that increasing one's contribution to the work and being willing to accept additional duties demonstrate a capacity for the task, which is a crucial element for getting promoted in a job. Lastly, all the faculties and students who made this event a success were thanked.
The Alumni Cell in association with QIC conducted another session of SCMS Noida Alumni Talk Series for the academic year 2023-2024, on 10th August, 2023. The topic of discussion for this session was " Your personal brand: The key to success in digital age ". It was a great pleasure to have Mr. Hurshul Chugh, a Co-Founder of The Societal Entertainment Group, Data and Insights Consultant at KPMG. and a member of Batch 2015-18, SCMS, NOIDA as the guest speaker for the event.
Mr Chugh briefed about his journey at SCMS NOIDA followed by explaining his journey from, following his passion as a DJ to working with corporates, starting business with his colleagues and now being a student of prestigious, Questrom School of Business, Boston University. During his talk, he elaborated on his challenges faced while working in corporate, and outlined his roles and responsibilities at KPMG. For students preparing to enter the business world as a new college graduate, he provided some useful advice and guidance. The guest speaker stressed upon the value of participating in inter-college activities and conferences throughout the session since it’s a great avenue for students to display their abilities and talents. It is a chance to interact with like-minded people, learn about fresh concepts and trends, and establish beneficial relationships with industry experts. Taking part in such activities may also highlight a student's initiative, leadership, and collaboration abilities, which can greatly improve their employability and make their resumes to stand out. The event was then followed by a Q&A session. Several questions were raised for the discussion which included Why MBA? finding co-founders, working in startups vs corporates, scope in marketing, importance of following passion, building LinkedIn profile, networking, consultancy field etc. All the questions were answered with great enthusiasm by relating them to his personal experience.
